Short-lived isotopes of Ne and Mg were measured with a resolving power of nearly 10−6 . An interesting application of these relations is found in Ref. 47 where they were used to show that the limits on the predictability of nuclear masses due to quantum chaos were too severe. 3 MeV/c2 . The authors of Ref. 1 MeV/c2 . Subsequent theoretical analysis49,50 of the limits imposed by quantum chaos on nuclear mass predictions reached similar conclusions.
